I born and pretty much raised in the soggy Northwest where I developed a love of the outdoors and sports. Growing up his passions were running, skiing and fishing but all sports came pretty easily. Through High School and into college (Washington State University) my sports focus was running including Cross Country, Track and Road Racing.
After graduating I packed up my things and moved to Maui to work for Hyatt Hotels where I developed an every deeper love of the water and my attention turned to windsurfing. After a short stop in San Diego I returned to Seattle in 1995 and was lucky enough to get hired on at Microsoft where I still work today.
My return to Seattle saw a renewed interest in running as a way to stay fit and reduce stress. In 2002 I qualifed for and competed in the Boston Marathon. After a few years of focus on work I found myself out of shape and unhappy with my fitness. I awoke one day and decided I would do an Ironman Triathlon and thus my triathlon Journey began.
That was just over 2 years ago and I'm happy to report that I have the triathlon bug. While I still love the other sports I've participated in for many years I now am throughly enjoying the new sports. I'm improving in every day at cycling and swimming and I'm happy to report my running form is finally back.
